New in @ So: King Louie

A household name in Amsterdam and beyond and a frontrunner in the field of vintage and sustainable fashion: King Louie. An eclectic label, with a vintage feel and history.

It is 1981 when Ann Berlips (then 22) and George Cramer (then 26) apply for a market permit. As true vintage fans, they are planning to sell their most beautiful finds on the Noordermarkt in Amsterdam. In between looking for vintage clothing in large halls, they have other side jobs and they study. Their carefully curated range is a hit: almost everything they put up gets sold. Just two years later they opened the iconic Exota in the Jordaan area and three years after that they set up their own label, King Louie. Under this name they moved to the Hartenstraat, where you can still find the King Louie boutique today. Fast forward to 2021, the label's vintage roots are still evident. King Louie still loves retro and fashion inspired by previous decades and brings a piece of the old fashion into the present with its timeless designs.
