Skin Cancer Awareness Month may be over, but sun protection never goes out of season. Skin cancer is now the most common form of cancer in the Netherlands, with an estimated one in five people affected during their lifetime. That's why House of Ord - Cape Town is supporting the Dutch Skin Fund (Nationaal Huidfonds) to raise awareness around sun safety and prevention.
Known for its stylish sun hats, House of Ord - Cape Town combines fashion with protection. All hats are UPF50+ certified and block up to 98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, helping to protect the face, neck and ears from daily sun exposure. “We believe skin protection should be a daily habit, not a choice. Together, we can make a difference by increasing awareness and encouraging healthier behaviour. Protection starts with what you wear,” says Merel van IJsselstein of House of Ord - Cape Town. As temperatures rise, the message is simple: seek shade, wear protective clothing and a hat, and apply SPF daily. Because the small choices you make today can make a lasting difference tomorrow.
